Parish Wide Proposition 4, Fire Service Tax Renewal

Every 10 years the St. Charles Parish Fire Services must ask voters to renew a tax millage that is used by the nine volunteer fire departments for maintenance and operation expenses in providing fire service to the parish. The funds collected from a 1/8 cent sales tax and millage is about 1.8 m annually. These funds are divided amongst the nine volunteer fire departments based on the amount of structures ... Luling Volunteer Fire Department receives new apparatus!

The members of the Luling VFD are very excited and proud to place into service two (2) new engines that will be located at the Luling VFD Central Station, 1603 Paul Maillard Road and Station 22 located at 67 St. Anthony Street.

Professional Fire Fighter Graduation

On August 10, 2018 Richard Borden graduated from the LSU Fire Emergency Training Institute certified as a Professional Fire Fighter. Richard attended LSU-FETI Recruit Fire Academy course that is designed for entry-level firefighters and is taught under the same paramilitary chain of command used in today’s fire departments. Luling VFD Graduates Two Firefighters

On July 14, 2018 Paigh Hills and Corey Arabi graduated with fifteen other students from the around the Parish of St. Charles after completing a firefighter I & II course. The classes were held at the St. Charles Fire Service Training Facility/Luling VFD using instructors from the parishes nine volunteer fire departments. Response to helicopter crash

Luling and Paradis VFD's were dispatched to a possible helicopter crash in the marsh north of Magnolia Ridge Road, Boutte. Upon arrival at scene, local citizens using a utv transported St. Charles EMS and Paradis VFD FF/EMT to the scene. Two occupants of the helicopter, including the pilot and a passenger, were located at the crash site and transported to a local area hospital with extensive injuries. ... (Full Story)
