Advanced Fire Suppression Part 2

On Monday, June 24, 2024, members of Luling VFD, Hahnville VFD, Killona VFD, Paradis VFD, and Bayou Gauche VFD participated in Part 2 of the Advanced Fire Suppression FETA class instructed by Andrew Metrejean, Timothy “TK” Devall and John Stennett.

This portion of the training was conducted on the fire training grounds and consisted of 2 evolutions. The first evolution consisted of ladder climbing and entry through the window of a structure. This also included testing the floor for soft spots, closing off the door in the room entered, locating and rescuing a victim via the window utilizing the ladder.

The second evolution consisted of fire behavior training and extinguishment with a live burn in the burn building.
