| Advanced Fire Suppression Training
On Monday, June 17, 2024, Luling VFD hosted joint training with Killona VFD, Hahnville VFD, Paradis VFD, and Bayou Gauche VFD.
This was Part 1 of a 2-part training on Advanced Fire Suppression led by FETA instructor Andrew Metrejean. Part 1 was classroom interactive instruction that covered topics such as: Risk of Aggressive Search and Rescue, Interior Fire Attacks, Water Supply, Staffing, Defensive Operations, Ventilation, Combustible and Flammable liquids, Suppression, Flammable gas containers, and hazards.
Part 2 of the training will be held on June 24, 2024, on the training grounds with a live burn scenario to be facilitated by FETA instructors.
Joint training is an integral part of fire training. Local fire departments regularly provide mutual aid to each other.
If you would like to become a member of your local fire department don’t hesitate to stop at a local fire station or give them a call. There is always a need for volunteers. |
