The annual installation of Officers and Awards Banquet was held on January 13, 2024 at Legacy Venue. The department would like to thank all members and guest who attended. Also, special thanks to all supporters not only of the installation but also for the support received all year. The event was well attended. Special awards and pins for years of service to our community were presented to members.
Years of service pins were presented to the following: 1 year - Keith Bergeron, Bean Lee, Joel Ramirez, Noah Tardiff, David Toups, Peyton Williams 3 years of service - Khaled Mohammed 5 years of service - Stephen Stromeyer and Cameron Tripkovich 7 years of service - Heather Bennett 10 years of service - Dawn Gaubert and Britton Allshouse 35 years of service - Armond Bourque Congratulations to all service award recipients
Special Awards were presented to the following:
Firefighter of the Year - Khaled Mohhamed - Khaled has received this award "back to back" years. This award recipient is selected by the Fire Chief, Asst. Chief, Dty Chief, Training Chief and Safety Officer and must have a minimum of 2 years of service and be an active member in good standing with the department.
Fireline Officer of the Year - Stephen Stromeyer - Stephen is the Department's Training Chief. This award is very special since it is voted on by the memership of the Department.
Rookie of the Year - Noah Tardiff - The recipient of this award is selected by the Fire Chief, Asst. Chief, Dty Chief, Training Chief, and Safety Officer. The recipient must have less than 2 years of service to be eligible and must be in good standing with the department.
Leadership Award - Andre' Poteet. Andre' is one of our career firefighters. The recipient of this award is also selected by the Fire Chief, Asst. Chief, Dty Chief, Training Chief, and Safety Officer. The recipient of this award demonstrates leadership skills and knowledge and utilizes these traits on a daily basis going above and beyond.
Safety Award - Britton Allshouse - Britton is also a career firefighter and is the Captain of Luling VFD's career staff. The safety award is selected by the Department's Safety Officer. The recipient goes above and beyond to always ensure "safety first" and assist and/or takes the lead on initiatives to increase a safe environment in the department.
Challenge Coins - presented to Benny Raziano and Andre' Poteet. These coins are earned and presented by the Officer who recommended the recipient. This year's coins were presented by Chief Stephen Stromeyer and the recipients were recognized for their contribution to training in 2023. |
