Joint Training Pushes Readiness to the Next Level

St. Charles Parish Firefighters recently teamed up with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, St. Charles Parish Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness and St. Charles EMS for a multi-agency, high-risk hazmat and tactical response training.

When our agencies come together, we form the St. Charles Parish Rapid Assessment Team, which responds to hostile threats involving Hazardous Materials. Crews trained on use of Hazmat and SRT PPE, tactical movements, victim/hostage rescue under threats, and responded to two intense training scenarios.

This training focused on:
✅ Unified command
✅ Hazmat monitoring & decontamination
✅ Tactical integration
✅ SCBA/IDLH rescue ops
✅ Medical triage & responder safety

Despite the complexity, our teams performed with professionalism, precision, and teamwork—proving once again that when seconds count, training matters.
