Career Firefighter Jason Scott and Fire Chief Barry Minnich attended a 4 hour in-service training with the St. Charles Parish Department of Public Works, St. Charles Parish EOC, St. Charles Sheriff’s Office, and St. Charles EMS related to an emergency and worst case events should a chlorine leak occur at the Parish’s Luling Oxidation Pond. All responders in attendance, along with Parish employees, participated in a classroom session regarding quantitative amounts of chlorine stored at the site, the physical set up of the facility, and overall emergency response. Lastly, the participants worked through several table top exercises that detailed the potential emergencies at that facility.
