This past week, St. Charles Parish Fire Service members, a part of our Special Operations Technical Rescue Team, conducted a Rope Rescue Technician training focused on patient packaging, litter attendant operations, ascending, and edge transition techniques.

These skills are essential when responding to incidents involving elevated or difficult-to-access locations such as industrial facilities, construction sites, confined spaces, steep terrain, and other technical rescue environments. Firefighters trained on properly packaging and securing patients in a rescue litter, safely operating as litter attendants, ascending operations, and performing controlled transitions over edges while maintaining patient stability and continuous patient care.
Technical rescue is a low-frequency, high-risk discipline that requires regular training to maintain proficiency. By continually refining these specialized skills, our personnel are better prepared to respond safely and effectively when our community calls.

A special thank you to all of our members who dedicated their time and effort to another successful training. Your commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement ensures we remain ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow
