🔥 High Angle & Confined Space Rescue Training 🚒

This weekend, members of the St. Charles Parish Technical Rescue Team joined forces with firefighters from Hahnville, Luling, and Killona Volunteer Fire Departments, along with a representative from St. Charles EMS, for a hands-on, high-intensity High Angle & Confined Space Rescue Drill.
Hosted on a fiberglass top barge at James Marine Inc. (JMI) in Hahnville, the training simulated a confined space emergency involving an injured patient deep within one of the vessel’s silos. Fire and EMS crews worked together to assess, access, and safely extract the patient (a weighted training mannequin) in a challenging and realistic environment.

🚨 Key Operations & Assignments:
• Incident Commander: Britton Allshouse
• Incident Safety Officer: Matthew Allshouse
• Medical Sector: Huey Marcel
• Rescue Leaders: Paigh Hills & Britton Allshouse
• JMI Safety Rep On-Site: Cameron Credeur

✅ Training Highlights:
• Realistic high-risk scenario in an industrial maritime environment
• Interagency coordination with clear command structure
• Compliance with NFPA 2500 & 1006 standards
• Equipment inspections and full hotwash critique post-drill
• Site tour for future incident familiarization

Huge thank you to James Marine Inc. for the use of their facility and support during this critical training!
This type of rigorous, realistic training ensures our teams are ready to respond when seconds count.
