Monday August 18th training was part 1 of a 2 part training on Fire Behavior. This was a multi department training with Luling VFD, Hahnville VFD, Paradis VFD, and Bayou Gauche VFD.

Part 1 training consisted of classroom instruction on the following topics as it relates to fire behavior: classes, phases/stages, flash points, and roll over. Other topics included: fire tetrahedron, backdraft, the difference between flash point and flame point, stream placement, stream patterns, thermal balance, and thermal imaging. This training was interactive with all being able to ask questions and share experiences.

Part 2 of the training is scheduled for 8/25 and will be conducted in the flasover trailer. Because of this instructors discussed how the scenarios will work and what each person involved should expect along with safety points for those who will participate in any and all aspects of the live training.
